He marr. 8th Nov. 1787, Mary (died llth Sept. 1815), daugh. of Robert Grant, min. of Cullen, and had issue Elizabeth, born 6th Feb. 1790 ; Alexander, born 2nd May 1792 ; James, M.A. (Marischal College 1813), born 21st Nov. 1795; Deskford, born llth Oct. 1801 ; Mary Jessie, born 30th June 1803, died in infancy ; George, died in infancy"

There was a Walter Gray who married Jannet Halket and had two sons, Alexander (Christening: 30 JUN 1755 Fordyce, Banff) and John and a daughter Jannet. The church yard of Fordyce has Jannet Halket's grave stone with Walter named has a farmer in the Mill of Towie. Jannet their daughter married John Black who started farming Ley at this time so he quite possibly took over the tenacy from Walter who then moved onto the Mill of towie? <>

A possible for Walter's birth is :
1729 October 20th James Gray and Isabel Wilson in Branbanontim(?) had a Lawful Son baptised called Walter Witnesses Walter Brandos(?) in Cullen Walter Ogilvy in Fordyce Walter Burnet in Thomaswell(?) & Walter Morifon(?) in Fordice.


Walter married Janet Halket, daughter of John Halket and Janet Gelly, on 21 Jul 1754 in Fordyce, Banff, Scotland.1 (Janet Halket was christened on 19 Dec 1734 in Fordyce,2 died in 1783 in Fordyce and was buried in Fordyce.)
