Sarah Gloins 2

  • Born: Cal 1780, not Somerset 3
  • Marriage: Phillip Hayball on 29 Mar 1805 in Chard, Somerset, England 1
  • Died: 11 Dec 1846, Parish of Chard 4

  General Notes:

Informant on death certificate : Ann Lawrence
(Note that in 1841 there is an Ann Lawrence, 50, Woollen Labourer 2 doors from Sarah)
Her age at death is given as 77 but this wouldn't fit with the 1841 census or daughter Harreit's birth date.

She worked as a Storekeeper in 1841 and resided at Coombs, Chard, Somerset. 5 (with son John and daughter Harriet)

Sarah married Phillip Hayball, son of Phillip Hayball and Ann Forsey, on 29 Mar 1805 in Chard, Somerset, England.1 (Phillip Hayball was born in 1785, christened on 5 Jan 1785 in Chard, Somerset, England and died on 29 Dec 1839 in Chard, Somerset, England.)

  Marriage Notes:

Neither the Banns nor the Marriage entry give anything other than Sarah GLOINS was of the Parish of Chard but, interestingly, Sarah signed the register, whereas Philip made his mark. The witnesses don't help either: H.CHAPMAN and John BENNETT appear regular signatories during this period.
