Georgina Lyons, Regarding her son William;this is an area very dear to my heart as I spent ages on the case. In the Long Eaton parish records it is as follows
William Dore son of Joseph Dumelow & Milly Dore B.B.Baptised May 19th.
Georgina Lyons, BT. Regarding her son William;this is an area very dear to my heart as I spent ages on the case. In the Long Eaton parish records it is as follows William Dore son of Joseph Dumelow & Milly Dore B.B.Baptised May 19th. Then in the Sandiacre parish records a few months later - William the son of Milsent door was born the 12 of May and baptised the 18th of September. I put this to Jenifer and Ernest at the time and we couldn't understand why William was baptised twice but he is one and the same. Maybe they kept quiet about the baby at first and then Millicent wanted him baptised in her own local church. Anyway he knew later in life that he was born in Long Eaton (1861 Census)
